Alex Rohan Band Features Corey Villamaino (drums), Tom Doherty (lead guitar), Jonny Taylor (rhythm guitar), Todd Rosever (violin), and Ned Sikes (bass guitar)
Springfield Massachusetts' BMI registered songwriter Alex Rohan has been in the live music scene in New England for the last fifteen plus years. With a unique and polished style of guitar playing, deep relatable emotion filled lyrics alongside powerful and delicate vocals, Alex offers a wide variety and pays homage to many different genres. Music and its ability to bring people together always fascinated Alex. He started his singing career at a very young age in the backseat of his mother's car singing along to chosen radio stations at her hair salons. His father's musicianship and love for music led Alex into a whole generation of fantastic influences. He began to have interest in artists and genres such as: Micheal Jackson, Nirvana, The Eagles, Cat Stevens, Beach Boys, Boys 2 Men, Ub 40, Jewel, James Taylor, reggae, jazz / funk, folk & bluegrass, progressive, punk, heavy metal and rap/R&B. This has essentially influenced his chord progressions, lyrical selection, and decisions vocally.
In most recent years, Alex has found success in the independent singer/songwriter world. In November of 2021, Alex released his most recent EP called 'Lancaster' recorded at Spirit House Recording Studio in Longmeadow, MA. It is available for purchase and streaming on all music platforms. The album was recorded live with some big names on the production such as: Adam Steinberg, Beau Sasser, Paul Kochanski, Tommy Dhiel, Laura Manzi, and produced by Danny Bernini & Paul McNamara.
Alex's love for live music and the art of preforming has given him the opportunity to collaborate and support other bands and artists locally and nationally such as Marc Roberge of O.A.R, Badfish, Jack Johnson, The Mallet Brothers, Brian Sutherland, Hunter Smith, Blake Esse, The Sighs, Seth Glier, Jeff Tuohy, Jessica Rose, Trailer Trash, Soul Circus Cowboys, Nelson Cade III, General Gist, Katie Lyon, PrideFalls, Crooked Coast, Sage King & Co., Alex2E and many others.
Live performances have taken him to events all over the east coast and beyond. BMI plays a huge role in the songwriting community and, since 2021, has included Alex in the Ft. Meyer's Florida Island Hopper Songwriter's Festival and BMI's Key West Songwriter's Festival. This has become a yearly opportunity for Alex to collaborate with some of the nations best songwriters. Locally he has built a name for himself playing solo and with his full band. Contracting with many legendary live music venues, New England breweries, wineries, casino's, bar's / restaurants including The Big E, MGM Springfield, City Winery Boston, Boston mid-way Cafe, Tree House Brewing Co, Cisco Brewing Co, Pearl Street, Theodores BBQ & Blues, Nathan Bill's, Race Street Live, Gateway City Arts, Silvana, Cafe Nine, Boston Winery, The Drake, Arlene's Grocery and many more. Alex also finds great joy in providing availability for private functions such as weddings and celebrations.
Most recently, Alex released his single "blurry." in July 2022 with Spirit House Recording Studio. This project went down a new path from a production standpoint. What started as an acoustic song with a catchy chorus in pre-production ended as a hauntingly dark and melodic piano ballad with a full band "breakdown" ending. The vocals and lyrics reveal parts of Alex's voice that have not quite been heard yet in past productions. "blurry." is available on all streaming platforms.
