Arun Ramamurthy, the Brooklyn-based violinist, composer, and co-director of Brooklyn Raga Massive, blurs the boundaries between contemporary jazz and traditional South Indian Classical. Their jazz raga explorations are free-flowing, highly improvised, and spiritual in nature. The trio is driven by the dynamic rhythm section of Damon Banks (bass) and Sameer Gupta (drums).

Arun has shared the stage with luminaries such as Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, Reggie Workman, Kenny Werner, Amir El-Saffar, Martha Redbone, and many others — exploring a wide range of musical genres including Afro-Cuban, Malian, Arabic Maqam, Western Classical, American folk, and more.

His colleagues Damon and Sameer have performed on stage with Peter Gabriel, Caetano Velosa, Angelique Kidjo, Saul Williams, Karsh Kale, Ron Carter, and many others.
