Eric Lee is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose stand-alone melodies are set to rich musical backdrops. From the personal to the sublime, his songs range from tales of honkey-tonk heartache to anthems of social consciousness, and are told with a language of poetic and raw honesty. His first full-length album, Heartache Town, reached #25 most-played album in National Folk Radio Charts in 2019, and features the exquisite supporting talents of vocalist Tracy Grammer and five-time IBMA Mandolinist of the Year Jesse Brock, with the album's first track “The Garden” reaching number #21 most-played song. Recently, his cover of “Singin’ Man” was included on the 2022 release, Tribute to a Songpoet: Songs of Eric Andersen, along with recordings by Bob Dylan, Amy Helm, Richard Shindell, Janis Ian, Dan Navarro, Dom Flemmons, Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams, and others. Lee draws from a deep well of musical understanding, having accompanied such acts as Peter Rowan, Eric Andersen, The Gibson Brothers, Pete & Maura Kennedy, Man About a Horse (winners of the 2018 Freshgrass band contest and IBMA nominees), and John Gorka.
Eric Lee & A New Sun perform Lee's signature hybrid of electrifying americana, folk, and bluegrass. In addition to his solo work, he has appeared at festivals throughout New England with his bluegrass band, Poor Monroe, including The Green River Festival, Ossipee Valley Music Fest, Podunk Bluegrass fest, and The Back Porch Festival.
A New Sun is made up of the exceptional musical talents of Sean Davis (guitar), Tim Bowles (pedal steel), Josh Ballard (bass), and Chris Boucher (banjo).
Evan Murphy
Evan Murphy has rooted himself deeply in northeastern acoustic music. His acclaimed string-band band Mile Twelve was awarded New Artist of the Year in 2020 by the International Bluegrass Music Association. With them, Evan has played some of the country’s finest music festivals including Rockygrass, Grey Fox, Freshgrass, Savannah Music Festival and Bristol Rhythm and Roots. They have opened for Del McCoury, Tim O’Brien and The Steep Canyon Rangers, and recorded with Billy Strings, Chris Eldridge, Bruce Molsky and Brittany Haas. In 2019 Evan released his first solo project, a roots rock EP titled Born Again Town. Brian Carroll of Red Line Roots wrote, “It isn’t often you come across an artist who can excel to a certain level of one genre, never mind entirely separate ones through different projects, but that’s just what Evan Murphy has proven.” Evan is at home as a bandleader, a solo singer-songwriter, and an endlessly curious collaborator.
