David Picchi has been performing and teaching music since 2001. As an electric and double bass player, he has been called to play on many recording projects and is known for his ability to perform with a variety of lineups, in many genres, and for any audiences.

As a performer, David has toured nationally and regionally, playing in venues from outdoor festivals, to some of the Northeast's most popular jazz venues, from casinos, to weddings, from clubs, to breweries and basement shows.

In addition to being the Administrative Director for the UMass Jazz in July Summer Music Programs, David is a member of the Amherst College and Mount Holyoke Music Department adjunct faculties, and also contributes his skills and services to the HCC Jazz Festival, Northampton Jazz Festival, and was a long-time member of the Vermont Jazz Center Summer Workshop faculty.

David can currently be seen performing in public with jazz ensemble FlavaEvolution, pop/soul/r&b acts such as Fever (top 40 large ensemble), #doubledoseofdave (duo), and solo, as well as as a sideman for hire.
