Hailed as “retro nerd-core supreme mother f*ckers”, Nashville based Jive Talk has built a reputation for their vibe-heavy, anthemic synth-rock sound, and high energy live performances. Acme Radio praises them as “a breath of fresh air for Music City…they stand out amongst the crowd.” Nashville’s Mike Grimes (owner of Grimey’s Records & The Basement East), even called them “the next big thing out of Nashville.”
The band toured extensively in 2022, including 50+ headlining shows & support dates with bands The Districts, Stephen Sanchez, The Brummies, The Unlikely Candidates, and many others.
2023 marks the start of an exciting next chapter with the release of their new single, “Potions,” their most expansive musical creation to date.
Frontman Oliver Pierce says, “What came out feels like something that could be shouted from atop a table at 3 AM.
It’s an acknowledgment of our nightly sins; and a celebration of them, in a way, as that is what makes us human at the end of the day.”
Ruby Lou is a piano-driven, melodic rock and roll band that treads the line between chugging rhythm and vivid lyricism (think Velvet Underground or a more ragged, country-leaning Talking Heads), and the loose heaviness you might hear in early grunge like Neil Young & Crazy Horse. The band sprouted out of the western MA DIY community after many years of sharing bills with each other's bands. The songs are a collection of writings from over the years by Kasey Greene, the band's piano player. The band is comprised of Jeff Lewis on bass, Tim Zoidis on guitar, and Karl Helander on drums. The band is currently working on their debut album while touring in and around New England.
