Join us for an evening of jazz with an all-star lineup. Led by Karrin Allyson (vocals) and Freddie Bryant (gutiar), featuring Miro Sprague (piano) and Nanny Assis (drums / percussion). Plus special guests!


An expressive jazz vocalist, Karrin Allyson has earned accolades for her lyrical balladry and adept skill at interpreting instrumental jazz songs with her lithe vocalese technique. Emerging in Kansas City in the '90s, Allyson rose to prominence singing standards and bossa nova songs, as well as more contemporary pop covers by artists like Randy Newman, Janis Ian, and James Taylor. Widely recognized as one of the most gifted jazz singers of her generation, she has picked up numerous Grammy nominations, including earning Best Jazz Vocal Album nods for 2001's Ballads: Remembering John Coltrane and 2011's 'Round Midnight.


Freddie Bryant has been called “one of the most gifted and versatile guitarists on the scene today” by jazz author Bill Milkowski and “a brilliant young guitarist and composer” by legendary guitarist Kenny Burrell. A versatile musician skilled both in jazz and classical music, Freddie is heavily in demand in the New York jazz scene. He has performed at the Kennedy Center and on NPR with the Billy Taylor Trio, and has performed and/or recorded with Ben Riley, Eliane Elias, the Mingus Orchestra, Tom Harrell, D.D. Jackson, Brad Mehldau, Chris Potter, Rosanna Vitro, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Sheila Jordan, Joshua Redman, Wynton Marsalis, Max Roach, Lonnie Smith, Steve Wilson, Kevin Hays, Randy Brecker, Salif Keita, Giora Feidman, Max Roach, Lonnie Smith, Badal Roy and many others. Freddie is also on the first call list of many singers because of his sensitive accompanying, and of Brazilian groups due to his knowledge of Brazilian guitar. He has also collaborated with musicians from India, Kenya, Saudi Arabia and Cuba, and has toured in fifty countries. Freddie’s own groups include Kaleidoscope, Trio del Sol and Brooklyn Rainforest.


Miro Sprague is a pianist, composer, bandleader, and educator known for his inspiring creativity, dynamic and passionate performance style, and artistic versatility. His playing is distinguished by a lyrical and evocative touch, rich and surprising harmonic colors, and a joyful sense of play and adventure.


Nanny Assis was born in Salvador, Brazil in 1969. drummer, percussionist, singer guitar play, singer-songwriter, he has played with artists such as Janis Siegel, Vinicius Cantauria, Eumir Deodato and Joao Donato among others. He is a teacher of Brazilian jazz, Afro-Brazilian music and other folk and folk sounds of his native land.
