Sign ups - start promptly at 6PM, music by 6:30
Be respectful - in the audience, as well as onstage
Keep it concise - 5 mins slots or as determined by the MC

The UMass Songwriting and Production Club is a community of artists who simply love to create meaningful music and have fun while doing it. Collaborating with their musical skills and sharing information on anything involving music as well, is the culture of the club as a whole and withers down to each music-loving member. (We love music if you can tell by how many times we just said it in the last sentence). Away from the sound vibrations, our loving community has grown to be a household club name on campus, and in town with member amounts reaching into the thousands! The instagram growth through our humorous, yet informative content on instagram, @umasssongwriters, has new student of all ages reaching out wondering how they can participate in our 30 minute song challenges, artist show and tells, weekly workshop on anything from digital production to music theory basics, or our monthly open mic/karaoke nights. All of our musicians came in as strangers, and are now a part of a family built on the shared love of music. We can not wait to share our talented artists.
You might hear a moving singer/songwriter with lyrics that scratch your brain, a pianist or guitarist who has been playing all their life, or just a person who needs to sing something out of them and deserves to be heard. The showcase of all the best underground artists (that are known) at Umass will be on display at the Drake on Friday Nov. 10th from 8-10pm. Open mic sign ups will be available for the public from 6:30-7:30pm leading up to the showcase.
